Sunday February 22, 2009

Today Carolyn is feeling a little sleepy. Luckily she has been resting well and has taken a couple of naps so far today. We have been told that she can move to the Colorado Accute Long Term Hospital which is 2 blocks from St. Anthony's. She will begin the rehabilitation process and will likely stay there until we move her to Craig Hospital hopefully within the next week or so. That said, we have to wait until her sodium levels return to normal as they have dropped since yesterday.

  1. Dear Carolyn,
Hello from the frozen cornfields of SE Central Illinois! We are Dave's aunt and uncle (Norma and Arkell) and children and grandchildren. It was a week ago today that we got the news about your fall, and we've been praying often for a complete recovery for you and for grace and patience for the whole family. We especially pray for you to feel God's awesome Presence as you go through this time of helplessness and "faith stretching". He is a great Resting Place!
God bless you and your dear family as you all wait and trust!
    Sincerely,
    Debbie Walls

  2. Dearest Carolyn,

When I heard of your injury the Lord brought this to mind:

Do you not know? Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak. Even youth grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall.

But those who HOPE in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.

So dear one, my prayer for you is that the Creator of the universe will create in your body a new way to walk and run. That you not grow weary, but live in HOPE of the One who gives you your strength. Your are in my constant prayers.

    Much love,
    Juli Hobin

  3. Carolyn-still praying the same prayer for you--from Psalm 63--that "on your bed you would remember Him during the watches of the night because He is your help"
praying for the Spirit of God to fill up your hospital room and your heart.
Hugs to you and to Jill.

  4. Dearest Carolyn, Jerry and Family--

Sorry Jerry to bother you on your email, but our daily trying to post on the blogsite is without success. (If there is a secret to getting the messages to post, will you please put the way in one of your blogs.)

Bill and I are still constantly praying for each and all of you combined. This week has felt like an eon to us, so we can't imagine what it has been like for all of you.
All of you are on our church prayer list and also in the BSF Bible Study groups. God knows how many are confidently putting their trust, hope, faith and love in Him. Therefore, all of us must realize "THY WILL BE DONE" and in His time.

Now that all the prayer warriors are busy, we also want to extend ANY and EVERY possible aid that we can be to you and yours. Please let us know what we can do and when. If you want help in any arena, there are sooooooo many willing to do whatever may be of help. We're merely waiting for your blog message, email, or phone call to proceed.

Please give Carolyn a hug and a kiss from us every hour that you can. Tell her we are right beside her, as well as the rest of you. Can't wait to hear what's next and how her days are continuing. Keep the faith, hope, encouragement, but most of all, the love going between all of you.

    God Bless All Of YOU!!!!!!!!

    Love--
    Marsha and Bill Campbell

  5. Hey oh, Carolyn and all...
I have been pondering and praying about your grieving. I know this is nothing new - but I am heartened to soak in the Truth that our God is the God of all comfort. He will stay and be there all night long - however long the night lingers. His touch is gentle, full, life, and He knows fully your depth of sorrow. May His Hand reach deep within and bring calm, ease, peace, patience, courage - like nothing or no one else can do. Isaiah 51:3 and 2Cor 1:3. Nancy S.

I am so sorry that the blog is causing so much trouble. I have tried many times since you changed the setting, and have had no success. The 'cryptic letters' just won't load. I SO badly don't want you to have to spend any more energy in this endeavor! but...

I am going to send you a link to 'CaringBridge'. I have followed a man's progress [at Craig, as a matter of fact] for months now, and it's quite easy. Yes, you need to join and set a password, but then it's flawless and painless. I have even set it such that I get an email reminder when there is an update added to his page. Of course, it's up to you if you want to change... but I thought I would just suggest.

    with deep concern,

    Nancy
